The Chianti Biskero di Salcheto was obtained from Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo (5%), Mammolo (5%) and Merlot (5%) grapes grown in the “Poggio Piglia” vineyards in Chiusi (SI) and “Abbadia ” in Torrita di Siena (SI). At the end of the malolactic fermentation, which softened the aromatic and structural edges, the wine was aged for 4 months in wood: a part of the mass (30%) remained in 300 liter American oak tonneaux. Before marketing, the Chianti DOCG Biskero 2017 from Salcheto rested for 3 months in the bottle. This red, proudly representative of the territory of origin, is the result of a particularly hot and dry vintage, 2017, which gave rise to wines that were particularly soft and full-bodied, and at the same time pleasantly balanced.CHIANTI BISKERO SALCHETO: THE TASTINGThe Chianti Biskero of Salcheto presents an intense ruby red color in the glass. On the nose it expresses aromas of strawberries and small berries which intertwine with hints of potpourri and clear notes of pepper and dark spices. Soft and full-bodied, on the palate it reveals a full and mineral taste supported by powerful but well-tamed tannins. Persistent finish. Excellent as a wine throughout the meal, it pairs well with cured meats and semi-mature and mature cheeses as well as first and second courses based on game or red meat.
Estimated between Tuesday 20 May and Monday 26 May.
