The Merlot Branciforti dei Bordonaro comes from the lush hills of Tenuta di Gelso Grande, 300 meters above the sea, on medium-textured soils tending towards clayey. We are in the Trapani countryside, between Mount Erice and the Egadi Islands. Harvested in the third ten days of August when the bunches have reached perfect ripeness, the Merlot is vinified in steel vats with temperature control (the temperature control serves to ensure that the fermentation develops slowly and constantly and that there are no blockages fermentative, with the death of wine yeasts and the possible triggering of fermentations by other fungi or unsuitable bacteria). After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for a month in medium-sized oak barrels and another month in the bottle.
MERLOT BRANCIFORTI: TASTING
Merlot Branciforti has a ruby red color with garnet reflections; the nose is rich in red and black fruit, with pleasant notes of sweet spices and tobacco, and balsamic hints of liquorice. In the mouth it has freshness, delicate tannins and a fruity taste. Fun to drink it slightly refreshed, with Mexican beef fajitas.
