Hauner's Salina Bianco was obtained from Inzolia and Catarratto grapes grown on the splendid island of Salina, part of the Aeolian Islands archipelago. The vineyards here insist on volcanic soils, particularly rich in minerals and organic substances which profoundly influence the character of the wine as well as the nearby sea. The white winemaking process, i.e. without maceration of the must in contact with the skins, took place entirely in stainless steel tanks. The expected refinement was 3 months in the bottle.
SALINA BIANCO HAUNER: TASTING
Hauner's Salina Bianco presents a straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose it expresses aromas of tropical yellow fruit that intertwine with clear hints of Mediterranean scrub and notes of yellow citrus fruits. The sip is fresh and distinctly mineral. The finish, played on herbaceous and fruity notes, is pleasant and persistent. At the table it pairs well with vegetarian dishes or seafood recipes such as exquisite grilled sea bass seasoned with aromatic herb oil.
