Altesino's Brunello di Montalcino was obtained from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown in the prestigious area of Montalcino, in the province of Siena. An award-winning red that proves to be an excellent interpretation of one of the most acclaimed wines on the world wine scene, Brunello di Montalcino (DOCG since 1980) which, by regulation, can only be produced and bottled within the historical borders of the municipality of Montalcino and marketed no earlier than 5 years after the harvest. Altesino's Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017 is the result of 4 years of aging in wood (2 of which in large oak barrels) plus a further 4 months in the bottle.
BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO ALTESINO: TASTING
Altesino's Brunello di Montalcino seduces the eye with its pale ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose it expresses intense aromas of morello cherry and small red fruits which intertwine with delicate floral hints of violet and evolved notes of tobacco, chocolate and sweet spices. The sip is full and balanced, characterized by a velvety tannic texture and an elegant fresh-savory trail that persists in the finish. At the table it pairs well with mature cheeses and structured land dishes based on red meats and game.
