The Rosso di Montalcino DOC Pian delle Vigne is an elegant Tuscan wine produced by Antinori in the renowned area of Montalcino, in the province of Siena. The Pian delle Vigne estate covers about 180 hectares, of which around fifty are planted with vines, and is located 6 km south of the town of Montalcino. Here, Sangiovese, locally called Brunello, finds ideal conditions to express its finesse: a temperate climate, excellent exposure, and soils rich in clay and limestone. The Rosso di Montalcino represents the youngest and most accessible expression of the territory, resulting from a careful selection of grapes and a shorter aging period compared to Brunello. It is a wine that maintains the elegance and identity of Sangiovese, but with a more immediate and dynamic drinkability, perfect for those who wish to approach this famous terroir without sacrificing quality.
Rosso di Montalcino DOC Pian delle Vigne: Tasting notes
Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino DOC presents itself with a ruby red color. On the nose, fresh hints of red fruits, such as cherry, combine with the typical sensations of Sangiovese with blood orange and delicate spicy aromas. On the palate, it is vibrant, soft, and has silky tannins. The notes of strawberry and blood orange accompany a long and persistent finish.

The Antinori Family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: from when, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Florentine Art of the Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, through 26 generations, the family has always managed this business directly with innovative and sometimes courageous choices but always maintaining respect for traditions and for the territory. Tradition, passion and intuition were the driving qualities that led the Antinori Marquises to establish themselves as one of the main Italian producers of high quality wines.
