Il Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore by Antinori is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Cabernet Franc (18%), Merlot (18%), and Petit Verdot (2%) grapes grown within the Guado al Tasso estate, in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC, one of the world's most renowned areas for fine viticulture. Here, the soils are alluvial in nature - clay-sandy and clay-silty - and the vineyards are located 50 meters above sea level, at the foot of the so-called Bolgheri Amphitheater formed by gentle hills overlooking the sea. The Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore is a prestigious red wine, the true flagship of the Antinori winery: for its production, the vineyards have been divided into individual harvesting parcels based on the climatic conditions of the vintage, and the grapes have been vinified separately. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 15°C-20°C. Once blended, the wine rested for about 18 months in new French oak barriques before being marketed.
GUADO AL TASSO BOLGHERI SUPERIORE ANTINORI: THE TASTING
The Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore DOC by Antinori presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color. Broad and complex, on the nose it expresses enveloping aromas of plum and small forest fruits in jam combined with hints of licorice root and balsamic notes and sweet spices. The palate is silky and elegant, enhanced by a smooth tannic structure and an irresistible tasting freshness that lingers in the long finish. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses and structured dishes based on red meats and game.

The Antinori Family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: from when, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Florentine Art of the Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, through 26 generations, the family has always managed this business directly with innovative and sometimes courageous choices but always maintaining respect for traditions and for the territory. Tradition, passion and intuition were the driving qualities that led the Antinori Marquises to establish themselves as one of the main Italian producers of high quality wines.
