The Vermentino Costamolino by Argiolas is made from 100% Vermentino grapes grown in the area of Serdiana (CA), a municipality nestled in the beautiful territory of Sulcis. From the grapes, which undergo gentle pressing, only the free-run juice is extracted, meaning the first and clearest part of the pressing. The alcoholic fermentation, which transformed the sugars into alcohol, took place at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C for a period of 20 days. The Vermentino di Sardegna Costamolino by Argiolas has aged for a few months on fine lees (the residues of fermentation), a practice with stabilizing effects that has enriched the wine in terms of structure, aromas, and substances.
VERMENTINO COSTAMOLINO ARGIOLAS: TASTING NOTES
The Vermentino Costamolino by Argiolas presents a pale straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of white-fleshed fruit intertwined with fragrant floral notes and delicate citrus and aromatic herb hints with iodine references. The palate is fresh and pleasant, supported by a pronounced minerality that lingers in the finish. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with fresh and semi-aged cheeses as well as vegetarian dishes and delightful seafood recipes based on white fish, mollusks, and crustaceans.
