The Montefalco Sagrantino Collepiano by Arnaldo Caprai is one of the historic labels of the winery, in production since 1979. Experimentation at various levels and the promotion of the Sagrantino grape have always been essential prerogatives of Arnaldo first and Marco later. The grapes are vinified using cutting-edge methods in the winery, completely renovated in 1997, and continuously updated according to sustainability parameters. The wine ages for 22 months in French oak barrels and at least 6 months in the bottle before being released on the market.

The Montefalco Sagrantino Collepiano by Caprai presents itself in the glass cloaked in a compact ruby red. On the nose, it is rich in fruity expression with notes of blackberry, cherry jam, and preserved currants, as well as in spiciness, with hints of mace, vanilla, and cloves; there are even Mediterranean traits, with hints of bay leaves and juniper berries. The sip is warm, stern, with significant tannins woven with a strong aromatic expression. Collepiano is a wine that calls for important dishes such as stewed wild boar or venison goulash, or even roasted lamb.
