The Rosso di Montalcino DOC by Banfi is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on the southern slope of the Montalcino hill, in a soil rich in pebbles, silt, and clayey sands, at an average altitude of 100 meters above sea level. After harvesting and selection, the grapes were fermented in combined steel and French oak Horizon tanks with a maceration of 7-10 days. The aging took place for 12 months, partly in barriques and partly in large oak barrels. Before marketing, the wine rested for an additional 6 months in the bottle. Banfi's Rosso di Montalcino retains the elegant characteristics of its older brother Brunello, expressing, unlike the latter, a more agile and immediate personality, and therefore more versatile.

Banfi's Rosso di Montalcino presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of plum and ripe red fruit chase each other, joined by hints of coffee, tobacco, and sweet spices. The sip is full and balanced, supported by an intriguing fresh-salty trail that enhances the drinkability. The finish has excellent persistence. At the table, it pairs well with semi-aged and aged cheeses as well as with hearty dishes based on red meats or game.
