Barone di Villagrande's Etna Rosso was obtained 80% from Nerello Mascalese and the remaining 20% from Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mantellato. The original vineyards are located in the municipalities of Milo and Castiglione di Sicilia, in the province of Catania, at an altitude of approximately 700 meters above sea level. During the winemaking, the alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel with maceration of the must in contact with the skins for 6-8 days. The refinement took place for 12 months in 500 liter chestnut barrels and for a further 6 months in the bottle. ETNA ROSSO BARONE DI VILLAGRANDE: TASTING Barone di Villagrande's Etna Rosso presents itself in the glass with a brilliant ruby red colour. On the nose it releases aromas of small red fruits which combine with floral hints of violet and light notes of toasted dried fruit. The olfactory profile is complemented by memories of undergrowth and dark spices. The sip is soft and pleasant, enhanced by important but well integrated tannins and a vibrant fresh-savory trail that persists in the long finish. At the table it pairs well with cured meats and mature cheeses as well as succulent land dishes based on red meat.
