Bellavista's Franciacorta Alma is obtained from Pinot Noir (22%), Chardonnay (77%) and Pinot Bianco (1%) grapes. Its unmistakable personality is forged on at least 75 of the 140 vintage variables that the company has at its disposal to "compose" its prestigious bubbles. These also include "reserve wines" from previous harvests which give further depth to the sensorial profile of the cuvée. Added to this is the fermentation and refinement in small white oak barrels of at least 35% of the wines that make up the blend (the term cuvée refers precisely to the union of multiple wines coming from multiple parcels of land and/or from multiple vintages ). The refinement followed was 36 months on the yeasts in the bottle.FRANCIACORTA BELLAVISTA ALMA: THE TASTINGThe Franciacorta DOCG Alma Gran Cuvée Brut by Bellavista shines in the glass with a bright straw yellow color embellished with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose it releases aromas of ripe yellow pulp fruit and candied citrus fruits intertwined with hints of honey and bread crust. On the sip it conquers for its elegant texture and lively freshness that integrates well with the subtle mineral trail that flows into the long and exciting finish still played on fruity and citrus notes. Perfect as a sparkling wine for parties and special occasions, it pairs well with any meal, tasty seafood recipes or vegetarian dishes.
