Beringer's Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is an everyday Napa Valley style wine. Beringer is based in St. Helena, is the oldest and longest-running winery in the county and boasts several firsts: it was one of the first gravity-fed facilities; among the first to make wine and refine in hand-dug caves and cellars; the first to offer public tours in 1934, just after Prohibition, starting what is now a true tradition of hospitality in Napa Valley; as well as the first and only winery to have both a red and white wine named #1 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator Magazine. The Cabernet grapes, harvested from vineyards that rest on gravelly soil, are vinified at a controlled temperature and the wine then ages in steel and bottle.
BERINGER CABERNET SAUVIGNON: THE TASTING
Beringer's Cabernet Sauvignon is bright ruby; It smells of blackberry, currant and plum, with hints of minerals and black tea. The mouth is soft, with elegant tannins, a certain freshness and a hint of flavor. Versatile wine, it is very good with ossobuco accompanied by mushroom risotto.
