The Amarone Valpantena by Bertani is made from 80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella grapes grown in marl-limestone and clay-limestone soils on the hills of Valpantena, a subzone of Valpolicella. After the manual harvest, which took place in mid-September, the bunches were arranged in single-layer boxes for drying in the fruit-drying room at the company's cellars in Grezzana (VR), in order to achieve a higher sugar concentration in the grapes. By mid-January of the following year, the grapes underwent destemming and crushing to proceed to the alcoholic fermentation phase, which began at a temperature of 4-5 °C and ended at 22 °C. The Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena by Bertani aged for 30 months in wood, mostly in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels and partly in barriques. Before being marketed, the wine rested for 6 months in the bottle.
AMARONE VALPANTENA BERTANI: TASTING
The Amarone Valpantena by Bertani presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses enveloping aromas of cherry, sour cherry, and small forest fruits in jam that combine with hints of chocolate, tobacco, dark spices, and delicate notes of toasted dried fruit. The sip is rich and full-bodied, supported by a velvety tannic structure and a full flavor played on fruity, spicy, and mineral notes. The finish is long and persistent. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses as well as opulent meat dishes based on red meats and game.

Amarone Classico Bertani is a timeless wine, an expression of a unique style that Bertani has always followed with dedication. A classic style that does not need to change, because it is always current. Amarone comes from Corvina and Rondinella grapes on the hills of Tenuta Novare, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, in vineyards dedicated only to drying grapes. Produced by Bertani since 1958, Amarone Classico Bertani means perfect harmony between time, nature and man: to it we dedicate our know-how and our passion, with a long wait and great care. The grapes are rested on the “aréle”, the bamboo cane racks, according to the traditional production method. Fermentation in cement and aging in large barrels for at least six years make its structure stable, making it one of the longest-lived red wines in the world.
