The Vistamare from Ca' Marcanda Gaja is made from Vermentino (60%) and Viognier (40%) grapes, grown in the prestigious Bolgheri area, in the province of Livorno, not far from the Tyrrhenian Sea. After harvesting, the two grape varieties were vinified separately: the Vermentino was fermented and aged in stainless steel, while the Viognier was aged in French oak barrels. The aging lasted for a period of 6 months, after which blending and bottling took place. The Vistamare Toscana Bianco IGT from Ca' Marcanda Gaja is a white wine that magnificently interprets the Bolgheri territory and its Mediterranean traits, bearing the signature of a giant in international winemaking, Angelo Gaja, the undisputed king of Piedmont's Barbaresco.
VISTAMARE CA' MARCANDA GAJA: TASTING NOTES
The Vistamare from Ca' Marcanda Gaja presents itself in the glass with a straw-yellow color and greenish reflections. On the nose, it expresses intense aromas of peach and yellow-fleshed fruit, combined with hints of Mediterranean citrus and clear savory notes and aromatic herbs. The palate is soft and harmonious, enhanced by vibrant freshness combined with a distinct minerality that lingers in the finish. At the table, it pairs well with semi-aged cheeses, as well as vegetarian dishes and tasty seafood recipes.
