The Pinot Noir Riserva Zeno by Cantina Merano comes from 100% Pinot Noir grapes coming from the Merano area, in the province of Bolzano. The reference vineyards include 10-20 year old vines, rooted on soils of morainic origin, at an altitude between 500 and 750 meters above sea level. The harvest was extremely selective, with a yield of 35 hectoliters per hectare. The winemaking process involved a cold maceration phase on the skins for 5 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature. The refinement took place for a long period in new and used tonneaux.

The Pinot Nero Zeno from Cantina Merano announces itself at the sight of an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with aromas of wild cherry and ripe berries which combine with hints of graphite and notes of dark oriental spices. The sip is enveloping and deep, supported by a velvety tannic texture. Long spicy finish. Ideal in combination with opulent land recipes, such as venison stew with mushrooms.
