The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG produced by Capanna is a symbol of Tuscan wine excellence, made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes sourced from vineyards located in the heart of the Montalcino area. The vines grow in soils rich in galestro and clay, at an altitude ranging from 250 to 350 meters, benefiting from a unique microclimate. After a manual harvest that ensures careful selection of the bunches, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to enhance the varietal characteristics of Sangiovese. The wine matures for at least 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a refinement in the bottle for an additional 6-12 months. This process gives the Brunello Capanna complexity and extraordinary balance.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG - Capanna: Tasting notes
The wine presents an intense ruby red color with garnet highlights. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet, with notes of ripe cherry, plum, and small berries, enriched by hints of tobacco, leather, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is structured and enveloping, with elegant and well-integrated tannins that provide depth and longevity. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that recalls the fruity and spicy notes. Ideal when paired with red meats, game, and aged cheeses, it is a perfect wine for special occasions and moments of meditation.
