Castello di Ama San Lorenzo, takes its name from the wonderful San Lorenzo valley overlooked by the eighteenth-century villas Pianigiani and Ricucci.
This wine is made from the best grapes coming exclusively from the historic vineyards Bellavista, Casuccia, San Lorenzo and Montebuoni.
It is a complex wine, an expression of Sangiovese grapes with a small presence of Merlot and Black Malvasia. Its characteristics are: finesse, elegance, intensity, length and freshness. The Castle of Ama San Lorenzo has a remarkable ability to evolve, over time it develops an aromatic complexity and expresses an extraordinary power.
Ruby red in color with purple hues, it has a very intense fruity nose, with notes of currant, cherry, plum and jams. Spicy olfactory recall of cinnamon and cloves, with a hint of tertiary notes reminiscent of tobacco and leather. In the mouth it is soft and fresh with a gentle attack and a velvety tannin well present and of good power. A very harmonious, persistent and elegant wine.

Grapes: 80% Sangiovese, 13% Merlot, 7% Black Malvasia
Alcohol: 13.5% Vol.
Aging: fine-grained oak barrels for about 12 months.

A company that has about eighty hectares of vineyards and produces a range of labels with excellent quality, recognized all over the world. Ama takes its name from a small village on the Tuscan hills that, since the fourteenth century, has seen agricultural activity flourish, with the wine production that was at the time taken care of by a group of families. In Gaiole in Chianti in the 1970s, some members created the Castello di Ama company, taking on the challenge of bringing Ama back to the splendors of the past, producing a Chianti worthy of competing in international level with great wines and which boasts prestigious awards.
