The Rock Angel by Château D'Esclans is an iconic rosé, a true jewel of Provencal viticulture. The blend is made from Graenache, Rolle, Syrah, Tibouren and Cinsault grapes grown in the area of La Motte, a small municipality in the Var department (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur). After the harvest, carried out in September, the bunches were transported to the cellar and subjected to further manual selection. The winemaking included the phases of pressing, cold pre-maceration (8°C) and soft pressing: part of the free-run must obtained sustained brief contact with the skins. Following fermentation, part of the wine was aged for a few months in large wooden barrels and part in stainless steel before being assembled and bottled.
ROCK ANGEL CHATEAU D'ESCLANS: THE TASTING
The Rock Angel by Chateau D'Esclan presents itself to the eye with a pale pink color with brilliant reflections. On the nose it offers aromas of red berries, snuffbox peach and rose petals that meet hints of Mediterranean citrus fruits and light notes of sweet spices. The sip is irresistibly fresh and savory, elegant and soft. Long fruity and iodized finish. At the table it goes well with tasty seafood recipes, especially if tomato-based.
