The Sole di Sesta Syrah by Cottanera comes from 100% Syrah grapes grown in the Cottanera and Feudo di Mezzo districts, in the territory of Castiglione di Sicilia (CT). The vineyards here lie on lava and lava-alluvial soils, at an altitude of approximately 750 meters above sea level. After the manual harvest in small boxes, carried out with a yield of 60 quintals per hectare, the grapes were destemmed and sent for vinification during which the maceration of the must in contact with the skins took place at a temperature of 28°C for a 30 day period. The refinement took place for 14-16 months in French oak barrels plus a further 18 months in the bottle.

Cottanera's Sole di Sesta Syrah offers an intense ruby red color to the eye. On the nose it offers aromas of red fruits that intertwine with hints of Mediterranean herbs and notes of chocolate and black pepper. The sip is pulpy and enveloping, supported by soft tannins and a clear fresh-savory trail that persists in the finish. At the table it pairs very well with tasty first and second courses based on red meat.
