The Barbera Bricco dei Merli by Elvio Cogno was obtained from 100% Barbera grapes grown in the territory of Novello (CN), one of the 11 municipalities in which it is allowed to produce Barolo. The winemaking process, which included the alcoholic fermentation phase in which the sugars in the must were converted into alcohol, took place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The refinement took place for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, with a period of 60 days on the yeasts. Before marketing, Barbera d'Alba Bricco dei Merli by Elvio Cogno rested for a further 6 months in the bottle.BARBERA BRICCO DEI MERLI ELVIO COGNO: TASTINGThe Barbera d'Alba Bricco dei Merli by Elvio Cogno presents a red color to the eye ruby with purple reflections. On the nose it expresses aromas of plum and morello cherry jam which combine with floral hints of rose and delicate notes of undergrowth and oriental spices. The sip is full and harmonious, enhanced by well-smoothed tannins and an elegant freshness that persists in the long mineral finish. At the table it pairs well with mature cheeses and delicious land recipes based on red meat or game.
