The Cabernet Sauvignon Altavilla della Corte di Firriato is produced from the vineyards of the Borgo Guarini estate, in the Trapani hinterland, on calcareous-clayey soils, with western exposure and 200 meters above sea level. Here, the French vine manages to penetrate the varied Sicilian territory and give a new, interesting expression of itself. The grapes are harvested manually in mid-September and vinified in steel; the wine then ages in French and American oak barriques for approximately 7 months.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON ALTAVILLA DELLA CORTE: THE TASTING
The Cabernet Sauvignon Altavilla della Corte di Firriato, Di Gaetano family, presents itself in the glass with a powerful, almost impenetrable, ruby red with a purple hint; on the nose it is very rich in cherries, berries and rhubarb, with precise references to coffee, chocolate and a touch of freshness towards juniper berries. In the mouth it is soft, with ripe tannins, and fresh. It is a wine that pairs well with dishes that combine the aroma and freshness of vegetables, the fattiness and flavor of cheeses, such as the traditional pasta alla Norma, but also with the fragrant Arancini or the succulent Stigghiole.
