The Syrah Altavilla della Corte by Firriato is produced from the vineyards of the Tenuta di Borgo Guarini, in the inland area of Trapani, on medium-textured soils tending towards clay, with a northern exposure and at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The name of this label is a tribute from Firriato to the Altavilla family, one of the most influential Norman families in the historical events of Sicily and Southern Italy. The harvest takes place manually at the end of August; the grapes are vinified in stainless steel fermenters, then the wine matures for 6 months in American oak barrels and 3 months in the bottle before being released on the market.

The 2018 Syrah Altavilla della Corte presents a beautiful intense ruby red color in the glass; on the nose it expresses softness and warmth: ripe fruit, spices, fragrant pepper. On the palate, it is structured, soft but with defined tannins. It pairs well with a starter of cold cuts, cheeses, and artisanal preserved vegetables, or with mixed meatballs and sautéed zucchini.
