The Frascati Terre dei Grifi by Fontana Candida is obtained from a blend of Malvasia di Candia (50%), Trebbiano Toscano (30%), Malvasia del Lazio (10%), and Greco (10%) grown in volcanic soil in the Monteporzio Catone (RM) area. A wine with a straightforward and decisive character, aged in steel for a few months. A young white with an easy drinkability that fully embodies the wine tradition of the Frascati area, which Fontana Candida has been enhancing for over fifty years. The name Terre dei Grifi comes from the ancient family de'Grifi, who owned the land where the company is located since the 11th century.
FRASCATI TERRE DEI GRIFI FONTANA CANDIDA: THE TASTING
The Frascati Terre dei Grifi by Fontana Candida appears in the glass with an intense straw yellow color and greenish reflections. On the nose, it expresses notes of white peach and ripe yellow-fleshed fruit combined with hints of Mediterranean citrus and aromatic herbs. Full-bodied, on the palate, it reveals a fresh and pronounced minerality that lingers in the pleasant finish of white almond. Excellent as an all-meal wine, at the table it pairs well with fresh and semi-aged cheeses, vegetable dishes, and simple seafood recipes.
