The Riesling from Gries, introduced in South Tyrol in the 19th century by Archduke John of Austria, is one of the most refined and elegant white wines of the region. Unlike German Rieslings, those from South Tyrol are characterized by a dry version and low residual sugar. Made from pure Riesling grapes, it is harvested around mid-October and subjected to a gentle pressing as soon as it arrives at the winery. Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel, thus preserving the typical freshness of this wine.
