The Brunello Riserva Poggio Abate by La Poderina is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes hand-picked in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area, in the province of Siena. During vinification, the alcoholic fermentation with must maceration on the skins took place in stainless steel at a temperature of 24-28°C. Following the post-fermentation maceration at 29°C, the wine is transferred to oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, where it will undergo weekly batonnage for about 5 months, and then age in the same containers for another 19 months.
BRUNELLO RISERVA POGGIO ABATE LA PODERINA: TASTING NOTES
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio Abate by La Poderina presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of sour cherries and ripe red fruits combined with hints of balsamic herbs and notes of underbrush and dark spices. The olfactory profile is complemented by hints of quinine, tobacco, and vanilla. The palate is enveloping and elegant, enhanced by a silky tannic structure. The finish is long, characterized by balsamic and spicy echoes. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses and rich meat dishes based on red meats or game.
