The Poggio alle Nane di Le Mortelle is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes with a small percentage of Carménère grown in the Poggio alle Nane area, the most suitable part of the Le Mortelle estate located in the heart of Maremma Toscana. After the manual harvest, the grapes were further selected and processed for vinification, which included an alcoholic fermentation phase in conical stainless steel tanks with maceration of the must in contact with the skins that lasted for about 20 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Before bottling, the Poggio alle Nane di Le Mortelle was aged for 16 months in French oak.

Maremma Toscana Poggio alle Nane di Le Mortelle presents itself in the glass with a seductive intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of blackberry and small forest fruits intertwined with balsamic hints of eucalyptus and notes of tobacco, licorice, and dark oriental spices. The sip is enveloping and deep, enhanced by an elegant tannic structure and a gentle fresh-salty trail that lingers in the long spicy finish. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses as well as opulent earthy recipes based on red meats and game.
