The Amarone della Valpolicella Costasera Lunar 2018 by Masi is a winemaking masterpiece that represents the tradition and innovation of the Venetian winery. Masi, synonymous with excellence in Amarone production, offers a unique version of this famous wine, the "Lunar," which arises from a nature-respecting approach and its phases. The 2018 vintage, the result of a careful selection of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, comes from vineyards located on the hills of Valpolicella, characterized by mineral-rich soils and optimal sun exposure. The name "Costasera" refers to the west-facing slopes, where the setting sun provides the grapes with optimal ripening. After hand harvesting, the grapes are dried for months in a fruit-drying room, following the traditional drying method, which concentrates sugars, aromas, and structure. Aging takes place in oak barrels, imparting complexity and depth to the wine.

In the glass, the Amarone Lunar presents an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it bursts with a rich and enveloping bouquet of ripe red fruit, sour cherry, plum, and hints of jam, enriched by spicy notes of cinnamon, cocoa, and tobacco. On the palate, it is full and structured, with velvety tannins and a pleasant softness. The balance between acidity and sweetness makes it harmonious and persistent. Perfect with roasts, game, and aged cheeses, it is also an excellent choice for meditation.
