The Pinot Noir from Nuova Tenuta Paradiso is one of the labels from Marco Guerrini's project, a Roman who has been a wine seller for a lifetime and is now getting involved in production. We are among the pleasant hills that embrace the historic village of Monteleone d'Orvieto, at about 600 m above sea level, on predominantly sandy and clayey soils. The estate extends over 32 hectares of woods, pastures, olive groves, and vineyards; the extremely ventilated microclimate naturally keeps all crops healthy. The vineyard area today is 5 hectares, of which only 3 are in production and entirely dedicated to Pinot Noir. The harvest takes place in the first half of September, the grapes are destemmed and cooled for prefermentative maceration, then vinified in steel, always at controlled temperature. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wine enters barriques (never new) where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for about a year; after bottling, maturation continues for another year before commercialization.
PINOT NOIR NUOVA TENUTA PARADISO: THE TASTING
The Pinot Noir from Nuova Tenuta Paradiso presents itself in the glass as a bright, transparent garnet red. On the nose, it is interesting, with notes of small red fruits, blackberries, and cherries, followed by forest hints of resins and spicy touches of freshly ground pepper and vanilla. On the palate, it conveys youth, has alcoholic generosity, good freshness, gentle tannins, and a hint of saltiness. Perfect with roasted spiced bacon.
