The Etna Rosso Guardoilvento di Caciorgna "is the wine dedicated to Dante Albieri (Graphic Artist), Maria de Ferraris (Artist), Francesco Antonelli (Navigator and Writer). The name of the wine, which is also the name of Francesco Antonelli's first novel , represents the image of the vine grown in Alberello which is crossed in all directions by the wind, sometimes gently caressed to give it relief, sometimes lashed by a violent force. But it, the vine, with its roots well anchored to the earth that nourishes, and held tight to the pole to which man has entrusted it, it remains there to watch and listen to that wind, which is also healthiness, it is quality". We straddle the municipalities of Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo, 750 meters above the sea: the earth is black, the porous and deep soil composed of volcanic ash, with traces of sand and rich in minerals; the vines are old ungrafted Nerello Mascalese saplings. The grapes ferment in steel, and the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in steel, then refines in second passage barriques for 8 months and another 3 in the bottle.

Pietro Caciorgna's Etna Rosso Guardoilvento is clear and brilliant ruby. On the nose it smells intensely of Ribera strawberries, black pepper, fresh oregano, geranium and rhubarb, all wrapped in a salty mineral embrace. The mouth is fresh and vibrant, with gentle tannins, lots of salt and aromatic reverberation. Very good with Catanese arancino, as with pasta alla Norma.
