The Gewürztraminer di San Michele Appiano was born from 100% Gewürztraminer grapes coming from single vineyards located along the South Tyrolean Wine Route, at an altitude between 300 and 500 meters above sea level. The original vineyards, with vines aged between 10 and 30 years, are of a gravelly-limestone nature, with a low clay content, and are exposed to the South/South-East. For this white with an enveloping character, the alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel as did the refinement which lasted a few months. Gewürztraminer or aromatic Traminer is a grape widely cultivated in Trentino Alto Adige as well as in Friuli Venezia Giulia. According to some interpreters he was a native of the Termeno area (BZ) in Bassa Atesina. On the other hand, the name derives from the German words Gewürz, which translates into spicy, and Tramin which would stand for Termeno in German.

The Gewürztraminer of San Michele Appiano shines in the glass with a straw yellow color. On the nose it expresses the typical varietal aromas of litchi and dog rose which combine with intense notes of cloves and sweet spices. On the palate it is broad and finely aromatic, with an excellent fresh-savory balance. Excellent persistence finish. Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs well with fresh cheeses and vegetarian dishes as well as tasty seafood recipes based on shellfish.
