The Pinot Noir Riserva Fallwind di San Michele Appiano was obtained from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the area of Appiano sulla Strada del Vino, in the province of Bolzano. Here the soils are composed of moraine deposits and limestone gravel and are located at an altitude between 400 and 550 meters above sea level. After a cold pre-maceration lasting 3 days, the must was subjected to alcoholic fermentation in steel. Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, useful for softening the structure and aromatic profile, the wine is aged 70% in barriques and 30% in large barrels. After blending, it matures for a few more months in large barrels.

The Pinot Noir Riserva di San Michele Appiano Fallwind appears ruby in colour, on the nose it expresses intense aromas of cherry, violet and seductive notes of balsamic and dark spices. Complex and elegant, on the palate it reveals a smooth tannic texture and an exhilarating flavor balance. The finish is long and persistent. At the table it goes well with cured meats and mature cheeses as well as first and second courses prepared with white or red meats or game.
