The Gewürztraminer from San Michele Appiano is made from 100% Gewürztraminer grapes sourced from individual vineyards located along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, at an altitude between 300 and 500 meters above sea level. The original vineyards, with vines aged between 10 and 30 years, are of a gravelly-limestone nature, with low clay content, and are exposed to the South/Southeast. For this white wine with a enveloping character, the alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel as well as the aging that lasted for several months. Gewürztraminer or aromatic Traminer is a grape widely cultivated in Trentino Alto Adige as well as in Friuli Venezia Giulia. According to some interpreters, it is native to the area of Termeno (BZ) in the Bassa Atesina. On the other hand, the name derives from the German words Gewürz, which translates to spicy, and Tramin which stands for Termeno in German.

The Gewürztraminer from San Michele Appiano shines in the glass with a straw yellow color. On the nose, it expresses the typical varietal aromas of lychee and dog rose, which are joined by intense notes of cloves and sweet spices. On the palate, it is broad and finely aromatic, with excellent fresh-salty balance. The finish has excellent persistence. Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs well with fresh cheeses and vegetarian dishes as well as delicious seafood recipes based on shellfish.
