The Pinot Noir from San Michele Appiano is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the territories of Caldaro and Appiano, in the province of Bolzano. The original vineyards include vines aged 5 to 25 years, with exposure to the south, southeast, and southwest, situated on morainic deposits and gravelly-limestone soils, at an altitude ranging from 400 to 550 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, carried out in the first half of September, the grapes were processed for winemaking, which included an alcoholic fermentation phase in steel. Before bottling, the 2018 Alto Adige DOC Pinot Noir from San Michele Appiano matured for 4-6 months in large casks.

The Pinot Noir from San Michele Appiano presents itself in the glass with a light garnet red color. On the nose, it releases aromas of blackberries, raspberries, and small forest fruits intertwined with floral notes of violet and gentle hints of oriental spices. The taste is harmonious and elegant, supported by lively yet well-integrated tannins and a gentle fresh-salty trail that lingers in the finish. It pairs well at the table with aged cheeses and tasty rustic recipes based on red meats and game.
