Sansilvestro's Barbera d'Alba Superiore comes from 100% Barbera grapes. The Barbera vine is the most widespread throughout Piedmont, standing out for its high productivity and the notable acidity of the fruit capable of giving wines with a pleasant freshness. In reality, depending on the processing, Barbera can also give rise to particularly structured and long-lived wines such as this Barbera d'Alba Superiore by Sansilvestro, the result of low yields per hectare and aged for 12 months, 4 of which in French oak barrels.
BARBERA SUPERIORE SANSILVESTRO: TASTING
Sansilvestro's Barbera d'Alba Superiore appears in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose it expresses aromas of wild plum and ripe red fruit which combine with evolved hints of chocolate. The sip is full and full-bodied, supported by a clear balance between soft tannins and acidity. At the table it pairs well with cured meats and mature cheeses as well as first and second courses based on red meat.
