The Etna Rosso Erse by Tenuta di Fessina is produced from 90% Nerello Mascalese, 8% Nerello Cappuccio, and 2% Minnella and Carricante grapes grown in the territory of Rovittello, a district of Castiglione di Sicilia (CT). The vineyards, facing Northeast, extend over approximately 6 hectares at an altitude of about 700 meters above sea level. In the winery, after a gentle destemming-crushing phase, the must was fermented in stainless steel at a temperature of 23-26°C with a maceration of the must in contact with the skins for 6-9 days. The expected aging was 12 months in the bottle. With the Etna Rosso Erse, Tenuta Fessina revives an ancient tradition of Etna viticulture that involved vinifying red and white grape varieties together.

ETNA ROSSO ERSE TENUTA DI FESSINA: TASTING
The Etna Rosso Erse by Tenuta di Fessina shows a light ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of small red fruits interwoven with hints of bramble leaf and spicy notes of cloves, coriander, and allspice. The taste is soft and intense, supported by smooth tannins and a long fruity and spicy finish. At the table, it pairs well with semi-aged cheeses as well as tasty first and second courses of red meats.

A' Fimmina on La Muntagna. Silvia Maestrelli's desire was to create “a place of beauty, between earth and spirit”, rather than a cellar in the strict sense, in which people could converge, skills, energies that in turn merged to enrich the intangible heritage of the Estate, made up of relationships, exchanges and ideas both professional and human around the culture of wine and good live. A pioneer and woman - among the producers who have given new impetus to enology on Etna, Silvia Maestrelli - of a Florentine business family, who emigrated to Milan for love - arrives on the Etna already in 2006, in the wake of falling in love for this land rich in contrasts. Today Tenuta Fessina is a reference and recognizability winery of the Etna area, which is also an expression in the world of new Sicilian viticulture.
