The Pelago by Umani Ronchi comes from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Montepulciano grapes harvested in the territory of Osimo, in the province of Ancona. The vineyards of origin - facing Southeast - are located on hilly clayey-silty soils of limestone origin, at an altitude between 100 and 150 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, carried out with a yield of 50-70 quintals per hectare, the bunches were transported to the winery to start the winemaking process. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 27-29°C for 14-15 days, thanks to the aid of indigenous yeasts. The aging occurred in French oak barriques of 225 liters for 14 months and for an additional 12 months in the bottle.

The Pelago by Umani Ronchi presents itself to the eye with an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose, aromas of ripe small forest fruits emerge, chasing balsamic notes and slight evolved hints of vanilla, tobacco, and dark spices. The palate is harmonious and full-bodied, enhanced by a smooth tannic structure and well-integrated minerality that persists in the finish. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses as well as succulent meat dishes based on red meats or game.
