The Merlot of Cantina d'Isera is grown in the most suitable foothill areas of the Isera hills. We are about 250 meters above sea level, exposed to the east-south-east, on the typical soils of the area: clayey soils with gravel, limestone and basalts. The vineyards are trained with the traditional simple Trentino pergola and are ready for harvest at the end of September. The grapes are traditionally vinified in red in stainless steel vats with temperature control, then the wine is aged in a concrete tank.
MERLOT CANTINA D'ISERA: TASTING
The Merlot from Cantina d'Isera is deep ruby red. On the nose it offers fragrant fruit of plum and blackberry, then medicinal herbs and balsamic hints of liquorice. The mouth has balance, a certain well-balanced softness, soft tannin and great correspondence to the olfactory profile. A versatile wine, it is perfect with local cuisine, for example good with goulash and dumplings, but also with grilled Luganega, and even with the pleasantly smoked Mortandela from Val di Non.
