The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Ugolforte by Tenuta San Giorgio is one of the most refined expressions of the famous Sangiovese, which finds one of its greatest vocations in the Montalcino terroir. This Brunello is born from vineyards located in the higher areas of Montalcino, where the cool climate and nighttime temperature variations favor a perfect ripening of the grapes. Vinification takes place using traditional techniques that enhance the distinctive characteristics of Sangiovese, while aging in Slavonian oak barrels for about 36 months gives the wine great elegance and longevity. The Ugolforte represents a perfect balance between the power of the tannic structure and the aromatic finesse that characterize Brunello, making it a wine destined to evolve magnificently over time.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Ugolforte: Tasting Notes
In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red color that tends towards garnet with aging. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and complex, with intense aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, accompanied by elegant notes of leather, tobacco, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is powerful and enveloping, with dense and well-structured tannins that integrate perfectly with a fresh acidity. The finish is long, persistent, and refined, with a pleasant minerality that enriches the tasting experience. Perfect when paired with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
