Donnafugata's Passito di Pantelleria Ben Rye is produced from 100% dried Zibibbo (or Moscato d'Alessandria) grapes grown between 20 and 400 meters above sea level, on sandy soils of lava origin arranged in terraces. The vines here are grown inside basins according to the ancient Pantellerian sapling system, a practice included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as it is creative and sustainable. A particularity concerns the fermenting must to which hand-picked raisins have been added to enhance the aroma. The refinement took place for 7 months in steel tanks and 12 months in the bottle. The name Ben Rye comes from Arabic and translates as "son of the wind", given that the wind is a characterizing element of the island of Pantelleria.

The Passito di Pantelleria Ben Rye Donnafugata seduces in its golden guise with splendid amber reflections. Balsamic hints of aromatic herbs inebriate the senses, combining with warm and captivating aromas of ripe apricot and candied Mediterranean citrus fruits typical of raisins. The aromas of ripe yellow fruit and honey explode upon tasting with a long mineral trail on the finish. Ideal at the end of a meal in combination with blue cheeses, dry pastries or pure chocolate.
