Sciàre dell'Alba, is composed of two words, “Sciàra” and “Dawn”. “Sciara”, which unites the Arabic etymology of ša? ra for uncultivated soil with the Latin one to flagrate “burn” indicates the accumulations of volcanic waste: just like our soil, of volcanic origin, mainly sandy rich in skeleton and organic matter. “Sunrise”, the moment when night becomes day, east, just like when the Sun rises, bathes the Ionian Sea and our land, on the eastern side of Etna. “This project was born from an enchanted stone on the eastern side of Etna, 500 meters above sea level, in Mascali (CT). Few hectares, very low yields, manual harvesting and extreme viticulture , are the ingredients that make us harvest the best grapes: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Catarratto.
