The Bolgheri Antillo di Guado al Melo derives from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes grown along the course of the Fossa di Bolgheri stream (Livorno), with integrated and sustainable viticulture methods. The vineyards from which it is born insist on sandy and clayey-sandy soils of alluvial origin, with a fair presence of pebbles. Winemaking took place separately for each selected vineyard plot. The refinement took place for 9 months in old wood in contact with the fine lees plus a further 3-4 months in the bottle.
BOLGHERI ANTILLO GUADO AL APPLE: TASTING
Guado al Melo's Antillo Bolgheri has an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, aromas of morello cherries and ripe berries emerge which combine with hints of Mediterranean herbs and notes of black pepper and dark spices. The sip is enveloping and elegant, supported by smooth tannins and a long fruity and spicy finish. At the table it pairs well with mature cheeses as well as rich earthy dishes based on red meat or game.
