Villa Lanata's Piemonte Rosso is a blend of Barbera, Merlot, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo (the Piemonte Doc denomination in fact allows a certain freedom in the use of the vines). The grapes come from the municipalities of Barolo, Cossano and Monforte; the vineyards are at an average altitude of 200-300 meters above the sea and have their roots in clayey marl soils. After harvesting, the bunches are softly pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a temperature of 25°C. Once the malolactic fermentation has also finished, the wine matures in steel tanks for 6 months before bottling.
PIEDMONT RED VILLA LANATA: THE TASTING
Villa Lanata's Piemonte Rosso enters the glass with a beautiful intense ruby color. On the nose it has lots of fruit, blackberries, plums, blueberries in jam, and then dried roses and violets, hints of undergrowth and black pepper. When tasted it is fresh and soft, with silky tannins and an aromatic profile in line with the olfactory one. This blend creates a frank, undemanding wine, perfect for restorative late-afternoon snacks with brown bread, salami and fresh toma.

Villa Lanata is a farm created to enhance the perfection of the Moscato and Chardonnay grapes that mature on the rolling hills of the Langhe, in Cossano Belbo. The company takes its name from the splendid Villa that dominates the vineyards estate, on the hill called “la Rovere”, once owned by Cardinal Lanata. The passion and dedication of the Martini family, and in particular the love for beauty that drives Eleonora Martini, have restored the construction to its former glory and have transferred the grace and architectural elegance in the wines that the company produces. This estate includes vineyards cultivated in Muscat Blanc and Chardonnay.
