Gian Luca Colombo's Barolo NICBA was produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes coming from various crus located in the Roddi (CN) area and surrounding areas, at an altitude between 220 and 240 meters above sea level. The winemaking process occurred separately for each vineyard and included a maceration phase of the must in contact with the skins at a controlled temperature for a period of 22-60 days. The refinement took place for 18 months in large Austrian oak barrels and for a further 4-6 months in terracotta or concrete. No clarification or filtration operations were carried out.
BAROLO DOCG NICBA GIAN LUCA COLOMBO: THE TASTING
The Barolo NICBA by Gian Luca Colombo presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose it expresses aromas of cherry and ripe red fruits which combine with hints of dried violet and toasted notes and dark spices. Toasted and undergrowth nuances complete the olfactory picture. The sip, deep and elegant, reveals a silky tannic texture and a gentle minerality that weighs on the long finish. At the table it pairs well with mature cheeses as well as rich dishes based on red meat or game.
