Argiano's Rosso di Montalcino comes from 100% Sangiovese grapes coming from vineyards, trained using spurred cordon, rooted in purely alluvial soils with traces of calcareous marl, at an altitude between 280 and 310 meters above sea level. The red winemaking process involved a cold pre-fermentative maceration, followed by alcoholic fermentation which was activated spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, with maceration of the must on the skins for 10 days, at a controlled temperature. The refinement took place for a few months in 10-50 hectoliter French oak barrels.
ROSSO DI MONTALCINO ARGIANO: TASTING
Argiano's Rosso di Montalcino reveals a ruby red color with brilliant reflections. On the nose it offers aromas of cherry and small red fruits combined with floral hints of violet and jujube and notes of balsamic herbs, wet earth, dark spices. The taste is savory and vibrant, with a distinctly fruity and spicy taste and a smooth tannic texture. At the table it pairs well with cheeses and succulent land dishes, especially if based on red meat.
From the times of Ancient Rome to today the estate of Argiano has made the history of the territory of Montalcino, becoming one of the most prestigious and traditional realities, a precious ambassador in the world of its wines, proud to have contributed at the birth of the Brunello Consortium.
