The Chardonnay Sicilia DOC La Fuga by Donnafugata is a white wine that reflects the oenological excellence of Sicily. Coming from vineyards located in the estate of Contessa Entellina, in the southwestern part of the island, this Chardonnay is the result of careful winemaking that respects the territory. The combination of a Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters, and calcareous and clayey soils, gives this wine a unique and distinctive character. The Chardonnay grapes are hand-harvested during the cooler hours of the day to best preserve the aromas and freshness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by aging on the lees for about six months, which adds greater complexity and structure to the wine.
