The Cerasuolo di Vittoria by Planeta has been produced since 2001 in the Dorilli countryside, between the sea and the Iblei mountains. It is made from Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes from the Dorilli and Mogli vineyards, at altitudes between 70 and 90 meters. The main characteristic of the soils in the Cerasuolo di Vittoria area is the sandy texture; the soils are predominantly composed of loose red sands, with no skeleton, moderately deep and with a tuff layer at a depth of 90 cm. Harvesting occurs at different times for each vineyard and grape, generally during the second half of September. Fermentation and maceration take place gently at controlled temperatures in steel, as does the brief aging in steel.

The Cerasuolo di Planeta shines with a clear ruby red. On the nose, it is summery and maritime, with notes of prickly pear, wild strawberries, marjoram, black pepper, caper flower, and briny hints. The palate is youthful and refreshing, with good acidity and aromatic sapidity. Perfect when slightly chilled with Sicilian swordfish, as well as with any type of pizza, and also with dishes from spicy Indian cuisine.
