Roma Rosso di Poggio Le Volpi is a wine dedicated to the eternal city. Roma DOC is the most recent of the Lazio denominations which includes one of the most important historical territories of all, with ancient winemaking traditions and the mineral strength of the land shaped by the Lazio Volcano. It comes from an extreme selection of Montepulciano, Cesanese and Syrah; the vineyards are located in the DOC municipalities, always on soils of volcanic origin, pozzolanic and sandy, in hilly areas that are affected by the influence of sea winds. Fermentation and maceration are carried out with temperature control, followed by soft pressing, then refinement between steel and woods of different capacities, origins and toasting.
ROMA ROSSO POGGIO LE VOLPI: TASTING
Roma Rosso di Poggio Le Volpi is deep ruby red with light garnet nuances. On the nose it offers light tones of cherries, violets and Mediterranean scrub, and dark tones of spices, tobacco, cinchona and leather. The sip is elegant, with alcoholic generosity perfectly blended with velvety tannins and vertical freshness; the finish is long and plays between fruit, undergrowth and balms. How delicious with the baked leg of lamb.
