The Primitivo di Manduria Gloria by Vigneti Reale is a dedication to Amedeo and Damiano's mother, the label portrays a detail of the ancient ceramic floor of the living room where Donna Gloria used to receive guests for afternoon tea. The vineyards of this Primitivo are cultivated with the traditional sapling, planted at high density, and the grapes are ready for harvesting in the first ten days of September. Fermentation and maceration take place in steel and last for 8 days, then the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barriques and at least 6 more in the bottle.
PRIMITIVE DI MANDURIA GLORIA VIGNETI REALE: THE TASTING
The Primitivo di Manduria Gloria by Vigneti Reale is impenetrable ruby red. The nose opens on plum and cherry jam, then widens to hints of liquorice, carob, ink and sweet spices. The sip is broad, warm, full of pulp, with well-integrated and persistent tannin in the fruit. An impressive wine that goes well with medium and long-matured cheeses, and important meats, even with fragrant marinades: the combination with pulled pork is fun.
