Cerbaia's Brunello di Montalcino 2009 is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes. The vineyards of origin, exposed to the North, are rooted in clay-rich soils of marl, at an altitude of approximately 350 meters above sea level. The entire winemaking process took place in 50 hectoliter stainless steel vats and involved a 15-day maceration phase of the must on the skins. Before marketing, the wine refined its characteristics for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and for a further 6 months in the bottle.BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2009 CERBAIA: TASTINGThe Brunello di Montalcino 2009 from Cerbaia presents itself to the gaze of a seductive ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with aromas of red fruit jam, followed by hints of dried violet and wet earth. The bouquet is completed by balsamic hints of eucalyptus and warm notes of noble woods and dark spices. On the palate it is intense and structured, with a velvety tannic texture. The fruity and spicy finish is elegant and persistent. At the table it goes well with mature cheeses as well as tasty land dishes, especially if based on red meat or game.
