It is 2016 when Carmelo Vecchio, after nearly twenty years of experience, decides together with his wife Rosa La Guzza to vinify part of the grapes from the Verzella estate that the Vecchio family has cultivated for time immemorial. These are volcanic soils, from which one must manually remove centimeters of earth to make it cultivable. Great connoisseurs of their territory, the Vecchio family is constantly present in the vineyard, watching the weather, seeking the perfect balance between man and nature. The harshness of the soil is offset by the harmony of the centenary vines, the order of the Etna saplings, and the gentle succession of the terraces where everything continues to be carefully preserved and protected. After 5 years of winemaking in the tiny garage of Solicchiata, the Vecchio family moves to the new facility in Contrada Malpasso in Verzella, adjacent to the vineyards, in the heart of Etna Doc.
